Summary

Reporting directly to the Environment Team Lead, the Interactive Objects Artist will work within a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment. Their role will consist of creating interactive visual assets while adhering to the technical constraints and project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop creative interactive objects primarily using Unreal Engine, as well as other specific development tools.
  • Collaborate closely with creative and technical teams to create gameplay objects from artistic concepts.
  • Create visual assets and interactive animations while respecting technical constraints and project requirements.
  • Optimize the performance of interactive objects to ensure a smooth user experience across different platforms.
  • Actively participate in innovation and the research of new artistic and technological techniques to enhance the company's interactive products.
  • Ensure the visual quality of interactive objects by performing regular tests and making necessary adjustments.
  • Document the creation processes and techniques used to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Maintain technological and artistic awareness to stay updated with the latest industry trends and tools.

Qualifications

  • Academic background in digital arts, interactive design, graphic computing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in creating interactive objects, ideally in the field of video games, augmented/virtual reality, or other interactive applications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Unreal Engine and associated tools for 3D creation and animation.
  • Strong skills in 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, and animation.
  • Knowledge in scripting for integrating interactive objects into game engines (Blueprints, C++ in Unreal Engine).
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex projects while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with other game engines and development tools (Unity, Maya, Blender) is an asset.
  • Skills in optimizing assets for real-time performance across various platforms (PC and consoles).
  • Ability to solve technical problems and propose innovative solutions to improve creation processes.


Location

For this position, a presence at the Montreal, Canada office is required a minimum of two days per week.
