Based in Montreal, Reflector, a Bandai Namco company, is an entertainment studio working with the best talent and producing engaging content for audiences around the world. Using an approach that focuses first on creating narrative worlds, the creates engaging, original properties that engage fans across multiple platforms.

 

YOUR IMPACT AT REFLECTOR

As an expert you will create levels that are not only technically advanced but also emotionally engaging, you will control what happens with the game elements by imposing rhythm, tension, game intentions, difficulties, etc. You'll constantly improve gameplay and fluidity across the board.

 

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will be responsible for the design and implementation of the levels in line with the vision of the creative team and the values of the project.

  • Game Engines: You will have the ability to take full advantage of the advanced features of the Unreal Engine, including building custom systems (complex blueprints, and performance optimization).

  • You will collaborate and advise on the development of game elements to ensure that they are used well during the experience.

  • You will develop all types of content management methods, game intent documents, macrostructure, level design documentation, etc.

  • You will establish with the design team, the exposure to the game to facilitate and optimize the player's learning curve.

  • You will conceptualize levels that tell a compelling story without resorting to explicit dialogue or text.

  • You will combine your action with the vision of the creative team by making sure that the game loops are brought together to create the "game experience".

  • You will develop a plan on the necessary fixes to the game during the review and playtest.

  • You will choose and supervise a series of prototypes to check that the selected game elements fit well.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • More than 7 years of experience as a level designer, or any other relevant experience in the gaming industry.

  • Experience with visual scripting and sequence creation tools

  • Experience working on a published game from conception to release.

  • Ability to adapt to change.

  • Strong coaching skills, support the designers to help them hone their skills.

  • Strong communication skills.
