YOUR IMPACT

Under the supervision of the Art Director, you will work in a multidisciplinary collaborative environment, you will lead and mentor a team of artist checking in with them regularly to help them grow as artists.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • People-manager for a team of artists of different levels and specialities you will coach and develop the various artists.

  • Ensures the tasks and priorities are clear and in line with the producers’ expectations.

  • Help define the correct process and ways of working for the art team and producers.

  • Synchronize with your artists several times a week to ensure they have everything they need.

  • Provide visibility to the Art Director on status of the artists' work, reviews, needs, expectations.

  • Ensure the artists have the proper kick-off documentation before they start their work

  • Understand and help deliver needs from other departments.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Have at least six (6) years of relevant experience as an environmental artist in the video game industry during which at least one game was completed.

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in graphic design, art or equivalent training or experience.

  • Exceptional understanding of shape, shape structure and silhouette as it relates to modelling.

  • Experience in modeling hard and organic surfaces.

  • Experienced with PBR pipeline.

  • Excellent knowledge of lighting, composition, colour and the value of environmental design.

  • Has managed people for at least three years, including full evaluation processes.

  • Has experience making games with Unreal Engine.
